How can philosophy make you better at change?
Philosophy for change draws on major philosophers, including Heraclitus, Aristotle, the Stoics, Spinoza, Nietzsche, the Existentialists, and Foucault, to present practical wisdom for times of change.
The world is changing
New technologies, social demographics, and global warming are powerful forces driving contemporary change. Yet most of us resist change, and when we change, change badly.
Philosophy for change provides simple, philosophical strategies for dealing with change and benefiting from it. No prior knowledge of philosophy is required.
What we do
Philosophy for change teaches participants to think differently about change. Most people see change as an ordeal. Philosophy for change teaches participants to see the opportunity in change. Once we’ve grasped the opportunity in change, change becomes an adventure.
How we do it
Classes are based around simple exercises that participants complete individually or as a group. The exercises apply to everyday life. Participants learn to think philosophically about change not by assuming a belief structure but by practising the exercises.
The format of the course is flexible and the content can be tailored to meet participants’ needs. Please don't hesitate to call or email to discuss options.
